Brian Carl is the Principle and Owner of Consilio Consulting LLC.
After working 30 years as a project manager and team leader, Brian decided to transition to a role where he could more broadly share his knowledge and help others grow. He has experience across a variety of market segments and can adapt his approach to nearly any field. He's built and led diverse teams from small and local to large and globally-distributed. And he's proficient with a variety of project management methodologies, from traditional Waterfall to modern Agile.

Led multi-team development of recognition and incentives management software platform.
Challenge: Plan and build software platform to bring efficiency to delivery across current and future clients.
Actions: Collaborated with Director of IT and lead architect to devise initial proof-of-concept, pitched idea to company owners, secured funding, implemented Agile/Scrum methodology from ground up. Integrated outside contractors, built features according to product roadmap to deliver highest potential feature value.
Results: Three existing major clients migrated to new platform, four new clients launched in first year of release, gross revenue over $2M in first 18 months of release.
Details:
- Development team (US and India) of 12 employees and contractors, plus 24 contractors in Mexico.
- Responsible for all Scrum Master tasks and ceremonies including daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, retrospectives, sprint planning.
- Coordinated with stakeholders and partners in the sales, operations, infrastructure, and client delivery.
- Created and presented monthly in-person status updates to executives.
- The project management processes we formed established the new baseline for all other software development teams in the department.
